Family Task Force 22

“Dear Big Sky Bravery,

Thank you for daring to be brave, and for daring to do so much good in the world.

On a personal note, having spent time with you all before, we always feel blessed to be around you again, if only for a few brief moments, in that beautiful country. There truly is no place else on earth that can compare, and we thank you for opening that door for us and inviting us in, again.

On the family side, we could spend a paragraph talking about how we hadn't had a vacation in years, and that this was our first trip as a family of four; and we could go on about how we wanted our first family vacation to be special, and memorable, and end-to-end fun for everyone.

But, if we only focused on the superficial parts of the story, we'd fail to convey how all of those things came true because of you all and your hard work, and that the real gift we received was in the ease and simplicity of it all.

We are, and always will be, in awe of the work that you do, and then we spend the rest of our time wondering how in the world we ever came to be blessed with the gifts you bestowed upon us.

In another universe, we hope that our roles were reversed and that we could work tirelessly to bring you and your families the same joy and wonder that you have so kindly gifted to us. Since our gratitude knows no end, we should move on.

We have identified our family values and the ideals we choose to aspire to every day, and Play is at the top. As a family, we play together, as often as we can, because we know that there is something more to the act of having fun than just "having fun." In many ways, play is the intersection of creativity and love, and that we serve a higher good when we choose to engage in play together.

This Family Task Force allowed us the time and space to play in a new and challenging environment, where we could take on the adventure of discovering something together.

Beyond laying the foundation for us to continue growing together in alignment with our values, this trip gave us the chance to be immersed in beauty, without the world interfering.

Our girls, having taken on the challenge of skiing at such a young age, now have the confidence to face even greater challenges in the future. We became better parents, better children, and better teammates after this endeavor.

In short, we are objectively better, stronger, more anti-fragile human beings thanks to BSB, and we will spend the rest of our lives paying it forward.

The W. Family”
