Neil Harris

Neil proudly calls Lewistown, MT home. He graduated from Montana State University-Bozeman with a degree in Business Finance and a minor in Economics. After graduation, Neil was commissioned in the Air Force through the ROTC program and spent the majority of his 20-year career within the Financial Management & Comptroller career field.
Although he didn’t initially plan on making the military a career, two decades and 10 moves later, Neil reflects positively on the military's incredible career opportunities — the training, leadership, travel, and camaraderie.
Returning to Montana had always been a goal, and in 2022, after retiring from the Air Force as a Lieutenant Colonel, he joined a local construction company as a financial controller.
Neil’s military career shaped him as a leader, fostering a passion for tackling complex challenges in collaborative environments. He considers his best days in the Air Force to be those spent as part of a high-performing team, working toward goals with a shared understanding that their efforts were meaningful and impactful.
One of the early highlights of his career was an assignment at Hurlburt Field, Florida, serving at the 1st Special Operations Wing and HQ Air Force Special Operations Command. Supporting the Air Commandos was a pivotal experience in his leadership journey.
Neil and his wife Karisa stay busy supporting their three daughters in various activities, including choir and swimming. An avid skier, Neil is also rediscovering the art of fly fishing. In his free time, he also enjoys hiking and occasionally hunting.
