TF132 | Superior, MT

A note from the Task Force Director…

Patriots,

We were honored to be hosted at Alpine Falls Ranch just outside of Superior MT, set on the serine Montana Idaho border.  Through out the week all of the recipients were able to ride horses, some for the first time; enjoy some low impact completion shooting skeet and pistols as well as catch their first trout on a fly line.  Throughout the week, Jason and the Alpine Falls team went above and beyond ensuring all of our needs and activities were set and not missing anything.  The atmosphere and setting allowed for deeply healing conversations as well as plenty of laughs to be had allowing each person to decompress at their own pace and in their own way, even including the cold plunges in the pond next to the house.

Being a part of these TF’s never ceases to amaze me the caliber of individuals we are honored to bring out and the struggles and trials they are going through.  With the new hostilities through out the world, they stay active without our nations full understanding of what they are doing and how much of an impact they are having.  With that said, the impact you are having on them is seen and felt thought out the community and I thank you for that each day!

Thank you for all you have done and continue to do for them.

“The week with Big Sky Bravery was one of the best that I have had in a long time. Often, we get caught up in the day-to-day grind of life with our head to the ground just trying to accomplish everything that is asked of us.

It becomes increasingly difficult to pick your head up, take a step back, and remember who you are and why you do what you do.

This week spent in Montana afforded me the opportunity to do just that. It gave me the chance to decompress and unwind. I would wake up, grab some coffee, jump in the ice-cold pond, and feel the weight of life become increasingly less.

But not only did it benefit me. It also benefitted my family. They got a better father and a better husband on the back end.

The refresh was much needed and we are grateful for the opportunity.

“The opportunity provided by BSB, and made possible by the generous contributions from patriotic donors, was exactly the reset I didn’t know I needed. It provided genuine time and space for me to reflect, refit and recharge. It becomes too easy, and too normal, to become accustomed to the day-to-day rigors of our line of work, allowing for time to pass quickly and life to change rapidly without our full awareness.

Naturally, it’s common to lose track of life’s most important virtues, the reasons we serve, or even a sense of identity. The BSB experience provided a deliberate platform to recognize this, connect with like-minded individuals, connect with nature, and re-discover a sense of identity that unfortunately we often forget about.

BSB serves as the standard for continually giving back to the community.

“BSB and Donors,

Thank you again for an experience it is hard to find the words to describe.

The generosity of this program, its donors and its mission are unparalleled for the Special Operations community.

The week-long task force offered an opportunity to take a much-needed break from the high-performance arena we live and fight in. During the week I felt as though the weight of multiple stresses and burdens from over 18 years of service were being lightened.

Upon return, there was a marked, positive, difference in family integration and performance at work.

This program was the perfect blend of nightly discussions, camaraderie and recreation for the unique service members it is designed for. The intangible benefits garnered from this program have helped me in countless ways. I am forever grateful for this opportunity given to me and it is heartwarming to see there are people out there who support and care for those who are serving at the nation’s highest level.

Thank you again and God Bless.

E.”

“Dear Big Sky Bravery Foundation (BSB),

I am writing to express my deepest gratitude for the incredible opportunity you provided to me through your program. After 8 deployments in 9 years and a decade of dedicated service within my Unit, the demands of both professional and personal life have taken a significant toll on my well-being.

The trip BSB organized was not just a break from the routine; it was a lifeline

that allowed me to recharge, find myself again, and bond with fellow service members who understand the unique challenges we face within our organizations and the military.

The past 13 years of service have been a relentless journey. My commitment to our Country, Unit, and family has been unwavering, but the constant stress and pressure have left me drained and disconnected at times. The trip provided a much-needed respite from the daily grind, allowing me to relax and focus on mental and physical health. It was a rare chance to step back and reflect on experiences. The support and camaraderie I found with other service members is invaluable.

The activities and experiences BSB arranged were thoughtfully designed to promote rest and re-fitting. From the serene natural settings to the engaging group activities, every aspect of the trip contributed to overall well-being. I returned home with a renewed sense of purpose and a stronger connection to my wife, kids, and peers, which has already had a positive impact on work and family life.

Your foundation’s commitment to the well-being of our service members is truly commendable. The support and care you provide are essential in helping service members navigate the challenges we face and ensure we have the resources to thrive.

I am deeply grateful for the opportunity and generosity shown, and feel more equipped to continue my service and fatherhood with renewed vigor.

Thank you once again for your invaluable support. Your efforts are making a real difference in the lives of those who serve our Country.

“Thank you to all benefactors for an amazing week. I was born and raised in Montana and my connection to the state only grows stronger the more time I spend away.

The importance of an organization like BSB, made possible by generous people like you, cannot be understated.

The opportunities BSB provides to the recipients, operators or spouses, are truly once in a lifetime.

The career can be a grind, and as we all know, there's no better venue to unwind than Big Sky Country.

Thanks again!

J.”
